Holistic Massage

Based on long-established and respected Swedish principles, holistic massage helps to re-balance the whole body, rather than simply isolated aches and pains.
The body becomes relaxed through the activation of the parasympathetic nervous system which helps the body to unwind and the mind to switch off, encouraging deep rest.

What are the benefits of massage?

The benefits of holistic massage are many and include pain relief, improved mobility and posture and spiritual and emotional well-being.

The massage also aids the elimination of accumulated toxins by
increasing the lymphatic flow which, in turn, reduces oedema (swelling)
and stiffness. Holistic massage can also help to relieve emotional stress;
the mood becomes elevated which can relieve anxiety and depression.
When physical and mental stresses are reduced, good health and a
sense of well-being may be reached.

Techniques may include joint rotations and rocking as well as deeper pressure including acupressure.

I completed my study of Holistic Massage and Anatomy & Physiology in London in 2006 and have since gone on to do short courses in aromatherapy, body pulsing, deep tissue massage, abdominal chi massage and myofascial release work. I practise massage in different locations around Bristol.

I see touch as a wonderful and powerful way of helping another person to connect more deeply to their bodies, to ground in their physical selves and release holding in the body that may come from mental or emotional stresses.
